ACNE SCARS

Dr Yadav is not only an experienced cosmetic doctor but also an acne/scar veteran and is a huge fan of microneedling for acne scars. Here's why:

In my practice I have worked with two different microneedling RF devices as well as a microneedling pen and derma rollers.

Here are my answers to some common questions. If you have a query please do not hesitate in writing us at contact@juverne.com or call 09910912141:

1) Can you describe the processes involved in the procedure?
The initial consult includes an assessment and detailed discussion of the pros/cons. When you agree to have a treatment we perform photography, give you consent forms to sign and discuss post care.
Then we apply a numbing cream on the face for 45-60 minutes and let you take a nap while the cream does its job. The actual micro-needling takes about 10 minutes for the whole face.

2) How long does the actual procedure take?
Most of the time is taken by the planning and numbing. The treatment takes only 10 minutes!

3) How long does recovery take and what does recovery entail?
Redness, swelling subside within a few hours. Skin may be sun sensitive for a week and sunscreen protects adequately. Microneedling with RF can cause scabs if the needles actually remain on the surface of the skin (ematrix by Syneron) as opposed to needles piercing the skin which leaves no scabs (EndyMed Intensif device or Infini by Lutronic). Healing times for the latter are short: 2-3 days. Scabs with ematrix are small but plentiful and give the appearance of a tan "bronzing" from a distance. This heals in ten days.

4) What are the end results of the procedure?
Smoother tighter skin with reduction in open pores and scar depth. It also helps treat uneven pigmentation and early signs of ageing.

5) Are there any procedures related to microneedling for acne scars that people might also potentially be interested in?
Combination of microneedling with PRP is known to benefit acne scars. This is a useful addition to the treatment.

6) How long do the effects of the procedure last?
The collagen built by the treatment starts showing results in about a month and lasts long term. However we age and lose skin collagen every year, which is inevitable. Microneedling increases your corpus.

7) Are there any risks involved with the procedure?
All risks of injectables: bruising, scabs, outbreak of herpes can be seen with microneedling but can be prevented/managed by the doctor.

8) What other uses does microneedling have? ]
Anti aging, treatment of burns and various types of scars, reduction in pigmentation are other uses. It can be performed over the face/neck/hands.

9) Why do acne scars occur?
Scars occur due to damage to the collagen and the formation of unruly collagen that pulls on the skin from inside - during the healing process of acne.

10) What other options are available for people with acne scars?
CO2 lasers, fractional lasers and deep peels may be recommended for severe scarring but have significant downtime.

11) Is there anything else about microneedling for acne scars that I or my readers should know?
That this is a terrific procedure with proven results and increased safety - especially in darker skin types where lasers cannot be used at high settings without risk of pigmentation problems. Radiofrequency and microneedling are color blind procedures with high safety in all skin types. Combination of these two methods in one treatment is more powerful and effective than either alone.
